Mangaluru: St Ann’s Kannada Higher Primary School organises annual Sports Meet

Mangaluru, Nov 27: Guided by the principle 'Let me do all the good I can, for I shall not pass this way again' under the leadership of Sister Maria Sarika, the principal of Carmel, CBSE School, here, the students of stds IX and X organized the annual Sports Meet for the students of St Ann’s Kannada Higher Primary School.

Sister Maria Kripa, the superior of St Ann’s Convent and joint secretary was the chief guest.

The day started with the choir invoking God’s blessings. Medini Rao of Carmel School welcomed the gathering. The oath was taken by Anil of St Ann’s Kannada Higher Primary School and the students solemnly pledged to uphold the spirit of true sportsmanship. The chief guest, Sister Maria Kripa declared the sports meet open after which a bunch of colourful balloons was released by Sister Maria Kripa, Sister Maria Sarika, Sister Maria Rosemita, the headmistress of St Ann’s Kannada Higher Primary School and the physical directors Karunakar and Sachitha symbolizing the vibrant hopes of the students flying high.

Varshitha and Diya Gopal compered the programme and Harshitha Rachana proposed the vote of thanks.

After the formal programme, the athletic events were held. All the students of St Ann’s Kannada Higher Primary School were served breakfast and were provided with socks and shoes as a token of love and appreciation by the students of Carmel CBSE School.

The valedictory gunction was held during which Sister Maria Shubha, the principal of St Ann’s DEd College was the chief guest.

Sisters Maria Shubha, Maria Sarika, Maria Rosemita and the class teachers of stds IX and X gave away the medals and certificates to the winners of the day. The afternoon programme was compered by Sinchana Bajal. Anushree welcomed the gathering and Annika proposed the vote of thanks.

It was a unique and enriching experience for the students of stds IX and X of Carmel CBSE School to host the annual Sports Day for the students of St Ann’s Kannada Higher Primary School which gave them an opportunity to share and care for the less privileged children.
