Udupi, Nov 27: The book release of ‘Bananti, Magu Araike’, by Vijaya R Kamat, was held at the press club on Wednesday November 26.

Speaking after releasing the book, Dr Satish Kamat said that the book contains description of the traditional care given to women during confinement and when with child. The book describes simple methods at a time when the traditional system is losing its importance, he added.

The author said that the book even explains how to deal with a situation wherein no maid is appointed to take care of mother and child. She said that tips from elders are also briefly described in the book. The experience gained during confinement inspired her to write the book, added Kamath.

Apart from this the book contains information on food for mother and child, clothes, and lullabies for the baby. Ravindra Kamath, Ganesh Kini, Ramesh Kini, and Nagesh Kini, were present on the occasion.
