Bengaluru, Nov 25: Notorious fraudster Shivakumar alias Swamiji, kingpin of the infamous second PU question paper leak, which had created waves in the education system is arrested once again for a similar crime. This time, Swamiji fell into the dragnet of the police for leaking the question papers of written examination for the position of police constable.
The hunt is on for Basavaraju, another accused in the same case and accomplice of Shivkumar. The CCB Police have taken into custody 127 people including 116 candidates, who had arrived from different districts of the state for the written examination and seven vehicle drivers, four mini buses and one Innova car in this connection.
The written examination for the position of police constable was to take place on Sunday, November 25 at all the commissionerate and district centres of the state. Accused Shivkumar, who took the details of more than 100 selected candidates from online hatched a plan to gather all of them at one place and give them the question paper and answer sheets for the examination. The CCB police who got the information about the same from reliable sources conducted a lightning operation and arrested the accused with the help of police from the districts of Hassan and Kodagu.
The arrested accused Shivkumar alias Swamiji was arrested earlier by the CID police for leaking the PUC question papers. He was released on bail a couple of years ago. It is learnt that the accused had opened fake accounts on the social sites and approached the candidates.
