Udupi: Delegation urges minister to build fishing jetty inside port area

Udupi, Nov 24: A delegation led by MLA here, K Raghupati Bhat, met state minister for ports and municipal administration, Ramesh Jarkiholi, on Friday November 23. The delegation impressed on the minister to use the grant sanctioned for building a fishing jetty at Kota to build it inside the port area there.

The minister, who positively responded to the demand, promised to convene a meeting of officials of the department next week and take steps to meet this demand.

The delegation had Malpe Fishermen's Association president, Satish Kunder, All India Fishermen's Association general secretary, Dayanand K Suvarna, Chairman of Deep Sea Fishing Corporation, Kishore D Suvarna, Malpe Fishermen's Association general secretary, Gopal R K, Fish Merchants Association general secretary, Ratnakar Salian and members, Karunakar Salian, Santosh Salian, and district president of Mogaveera Youth Organization, Vinay Karkera and some others as its members.
