Mangalore, Nov 24: Srinivas College of Pharmacy, in association with the South Kanara District Chemists and Druggists Association (SKDC and DA), Association of Community Pharmacists of India, and Nodal Centre, will organize ‘National Pharmacy Week-2008’ from Friday November 28. 

Briefing media persons at a press conference on Monday November 24, Dr C S Shastry, principal, Srinivas College of Pharmacy, said that the week will be celebrated nationwide, with the aim of highlighting the profession of pharmacy and to bring awareness about the role of pharmacists in healthcare. ‘Prabhudev, district medical officer, will inaugurate the pharmacy week. AIDS awareness pharma rally, asthma awareness programme, and other similar programmes will be conducted during the pharmacy week’, he said. 

Dr M A V Ansari, assistant drugs controller, DK district, Srinivas Rao, vice-president, A Shama Rao Foundation, Shridhar Kamath, president SKDC and DA, D Shashikala R Rao and others will be honoured during the pharmacy week, added Dr Shastry. P Panduranga Rao, Dr A R Shabaraya, convener of pharmacy week, and Ravindra Kumar, were present on the occasion.
