Bengaluru, Nov 21: "Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and chief minister H D Kumaraswamy are the biggest opportunistic politicians in the country," accused former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.
Yeddyurappa was speaking to media persons on Tuesday, November 20 at the state office of BJP in the city. Continuing his barrage against Kumaraswamy and Deve Gowda , Yeddyurappa further said, "The other names for unfaithfulness and breach of trust are Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy. They are saying that I had been to their house requesting them to make me a minister. They should be ashamed to give such a irresponsible statement. It is true that they ditched Dharam Singh and joined me to rule the state for 20 months. But afterwards they ditched me. You are the ones who breached the trust after ruling for 20 months. Now you only tease me. Are these the words spoken by a person who was a former Prime Minister?"
"In the last assembly elections, BJP has won 104 seats. The seats won by the father and son party are just 38. Though they know this, they speak in an arrogant manner. Kumaraswamy should know that if the Congress did not offer support, they would be standing on the road like orphans. More than 225 farmers have committed suicide after Kumaraswamy attained power in the state. More than 100 taluks are declared as affected by drought. Let Kumaraswamy make it clear as to what is the amount that is used for waiver of loans and the grant that is released for the management of drought" said, Yeddyurappa.
Series of questions to Deve Gowda
Yeddyurappa ridiculed Deve Gowda by posing the following questions:
* Who is the one who got Ramakrishna Hegde attacked with chappals in 1994?
* Is it Deve Gowda who became the president of Janata Dal in 1993 by falling at the feet of Ramakrishna Hegde?
* Who is one who dismissed Ramakrishna Hegde from the party in 1998-99?
* What is the help Deve Gowda did for S R Bommai in 1988?
"In the last assembly elections Deve Gowda humiliated Siddaramaiah by fielding G T Deve Gowda. If Siddaramaiah had not won from the constituency of Badami, what would have been his fate? Siddaramaiah is tolerating everything and waiting for the right time I feel," added Yeddyurappa.
