Dharwad, Nov 19: JD(S) national president, H D Deve Gowda, said that the third front has been making efforts to close the doors of BJP in the south. He was addressing a press meet organized at Hubballi on Sunday November 18.
"BJP has been following the path of endangering the secular, democratic fabric of the country. Because of its policies, people have not been able to live happily. Therefore, JD(S) and Congress will together fight the coming Lok Sabha election to retain secular system and rein in advances of BJP in south India," he said.

Gowda said that he is hopeful of sharing Lok Sabha seats between the two parties through mutual understanding. Before that, he said that his party leaders will hold discussions with Siddaramaiah on reaching understandings. "We will take a final decision in two to three days. In other states, coalition parties will share seats as per the local conditions," he explained.
On the issue of sharing of ministerial berths, he said there are no differences between the two parties. He said that the expansion of the ministry and appointments to boards and corporations will take place by the end of this month.
Gowda asserted that Kumaraswamy will continue to be the chief minister of Karnataka as already announced by the Congress high command, for full five years. "I do not know under what circumstances deputy chief minister, Dr G Parameshwar, said that he is prepared to become the chief minister. Basavaraj Horatti is a veteran member of the party and his experience would be suitably rewarded. We will also think of making him a minister at the time of ministry expansion," he stated.
