Bengaluru, Nov 9: The central leaders, as a measure of abundant precaution, have reportedly asked the state BJP leaders to stay away from tainted former minister, B Janardhan Reddy.
Sources also say that BJP MLA Sriramulu, who treats Reddy as his mentor, has also been advised not to appear in public often with Janardhan Reddy.
It is said that a state leader had analyzed that the party faced reverses in the assembly election because of the active participation of Janardhan Reddy in campaigning. He also noted that the party was compelled to apologize during Ballari bypoll after Reddy made a statement against Siddaramaiah that was deemed heartless and lacking compassion.
Now Reddy has been accused of money laundering. Therefore, this state leader told national president of the party, Amit Shah, that if the party leaders continue to be associated with Reddy, it might give wrong message to the people.
The BJP leaders here therefore have been advised to maintain distance from Janardhan Reddy and not speak about him in public.
