Mangaluru, Nov 1: With pride in our souls, St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated the Gonzaga Kannada Sambhrama on Thursday, November 1 with great pomp and cheer in the school hall.
The hall was lit with vibrant flags of red and yellow. The programme commenced by paying homage to state with the Naadageethe. Anjana Kamath welcomed the gathering. The various songs and dances exhibited by our students, wearing emotion of pride, highlighting the rich heritage and culture of Karnataka was worth watching. The students gave an overwhelming performance in the skit with a thought provoking message that highlighted respect to elders thus arousing in every student the virtue of humanity. The popular folk dance of Mysuru, Beesu Kamsaale was the highlight of the programme.
The chief guest, Gopadkar cited in his message that education must be for change and for self realization. Fr Ivan Mendonca who was the guest of honour in his message highlighted the importance of kannada language and urged the students to take pride in it. The principal in her presidential address mentioned that this day should be celebrated as an everyday festival and appreciated the hard work put in by the teachers and students. Akshatha Kudla proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Nicole Ria Saldanha of Class 9B along with Riona Pais of class 8 and Rithvik of class 6.
The programme concluded with all the artists along with the dignitaries who came on stage in unity and pride.
