Puttur, Oct 29: In connection with the planting of three crude bombs in a house at Polya, Kabaka village in a house located by the side of Mani - Mysuru highway, out of which one went off during early hours on October 16, the police have arrested a person who has been accused of supplying explosive materials to the accused. The 81-year-old accused had confessed to the police that he wanted to explode the house as its owner who had employed him, had failed to return Rs 50,000 belonging to him. In this blast, the owner's wife had suffered serious injuries.
The arrested accused happens to be Murugesh (37), resident of Chilkunda near Oniyamma temple in Anagodu revenue division of Hunsur taluk, Mysuru district. He was arrested on the basis of statement made by Babu alias Balan, who was in police custody for setting off bomb blast in the said house, that the supplier of explosive material to him was at Mysuru. Babu was led to Mysuru on October 28, and Murugesh was arrested after Babu identified him.
The operation was conducted by police sub-inspector, Ajey Kumar D N, under the leadership of deputy superintendent of police, Srinivas B S and Puttur town station police circle inspector, Thimmappa Naik, under the guidance of district superintendent of police, Dr Ravikanthe Gowda, and additional superintendent of police, V J Sajith.
