Bengaluru, Oct 26: AIADMK leader V K Sasikala plans to learn Kannada from Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara prison and has expressed her intention to jail authorities to enroll for a Kannada learning course under the distance education department under Bangalore University (BU).
BU Distance Education director-in-charge has confirmed on Sasikala’s Kannada learning desire. “I will be visiting Parapana Aagrahara jail to give her details on the course. Everyone has the right to learn,” he told media.
He further added that he has received more than 200 applications from jail inmates, who want to enroll in different courses under the distance education programme. “There are plans to start special training as well as examination centres in the prison premises to facilitate education interests of the jail inmates,” he adds.
Sasikala will most likely enroll for the post-graduation (PG) course in Kannada. She is aware of Kannada language and has learnt alphabets in Kannada. She also communicates to other inmates in Kannada.
