Udupi, Oct 17: Adani Group’s Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL), which is having power plant at Yellur village, handed over a letter of confirmation to Palimaru gram panchayat (GP) for execution of development works worth Rs 1 crore under its CSR package during the Financial Year 2018-19.
Kishore Alva, Joint President of Adani UPCL and Jitendra Futrado, President of Palimar GP, mutually exchanged the confirmation letter and Kriya Yojana for the FY 2018-19 in the premises of Palimar GP.
Handing over the confirmation letter Alva told that Adani UPCL has brought Palimar GP under its special CSR package based on the request by villagers and members of GP through District Administration. Alike other 6 panchayats, Palimar Panchayat has been covered under the umbrella of Adani CSR for taking-up village development works worth Rs 3 crore over a period of 3 years. He also told that from the declared special package of Rs 3 crore, till date Adani UPCL has completed 3 development works worth Rs 41.65 lac involving concreting of floor at the premises of Palimar Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple and Brahma Baidarkala Garadi in Adve and development of road measuring 1 km from Nandikuru Temple to Palimar town.
The contract for 3 development works at a project cost of Rs. 30 lakhs involving interlocking facility to St Piyus Church, concreting of Palimar Dam Road, development of Hoige road have been already awarded and soon the works would be completed, Alva added.
Receiving the confirmation letter, Jitendra Futrado thanked Adani UPCL for considering their panchayat for special CSR package of Adani. He told that Adani is responding to the people’s grievances and working for the development of society through its CSR.
R Satish, panchayat development officer, Sumangala Devadiga, vice president, Shivarama, Vasudeva, Satish Devadiga, Jayanti, members of panchayat, Lokanath, village accountant, UPCL company’s AGM Girish Navada, Adani Foundation team members Vineet Anchan, Sukesh Suvarna, Andeep Poojary and Bada residents were present on the occasion.
