Udupi, Oct 1: UPCL in hands with Adani Foundation inaugurated two concrete roads in the limits of Yellur Grama Panchayat, where it is operating its power plant on October 1. The road from Kenja to Maniyuru of length of 790 metres and Kunjur Temple road of 400 metres length, which were concreted under the CSR programme of Adani UPCL at a project cost of Rs 32.45 lac and Rs 11.86 lac respectively, were inaugurated jointly by Vasanti Madhwaraj, President of Yellur Grama Panchayat and Kishroe Alva, Joint President of Adani UPCL.
Inaugurating the roads, Vasanti Madhwaraj thanked Adani UPCL for the CSR programmes. She applauded that the company is formulating social developmental programmes under the CSR and the benefits of the programmes are being delivered to the villagers.
Later Kishore Alva spoke and informed that the company is framing various social development programmes in the field of Education, Health, Sports and Rural Infrastructure Development and it implementing for the benefit of the society with the support of local villagers. He thanked Panchayat and villagers for extending the support in implementing the CSR programmes.
Continuing, Alva informed that under the Rural Infrastructure Development programme, company has declared a special package for the village development works in the surrounding 7 Grama Panchayats. Yellur Grama Panchayat has been committed for development works worth Rs 3.75 crore over a period of 3 years, against which the development works worth Rs 1.41 crore have been completed and unveiled to the villagers, he added.
