Bengaluru, Oct 1: "The Rahu and Ketu who defeated Siddaramaiah in the last assembly elections are from JD (S)," accused B S Yeddyurappa, state BJP president.
Yeddyurappa was reacting to a statement given by Siddaramaiah in Mysuru on Saturday September 29 in which he said that in order to defeat him Shani, Rahu and Ketu stars got together and pulled him down.
Yeddyurappa further said, "The Rahu-Ketu which Siddaramiah was referring to in his statement is not the BJP, but he was referring to JD (S). In the Chamundeshwari constituency, Siddaramaiah was defeated by the JD (S) G T Devegowda's candidature. It is surprising that Siddaramaiah is still continuing in spite of taking all the pain and humiliation."
Yeddyurappa took the opportunity to speak for Siddaramaiah and came up with a new twist by saying that a conspiracy is being hatched to keep Siddaramaiah away from politics.
"All have joined together and insulted Siddaramaiah. Siddaramaiah is observing all the political developments in the state and he will take a decision at the right time," Yeddyurappa added.
No reaction from the CM
"I do not know in what context Siddaramaiah said in his statement that Rahu-Ketu got together and defeated him. I will not respond to this," said chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.
