Udupi, Nov 4: MLA Yashpal Suvarna held a meeting regarding the work on NH 169A, which covers the Malpe-Adi Udupi, Hiriyadka, Parkala, and Perdoor highways. The meeting was attended by MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, and other officials.
Yashpal Suvarna said, "The Malpe-Adi Udupi work has been delayed due to land acquisition issues. Notices have been served to landowners regarding compensation. Of the 195 private landowners, 51 have received the notice, and 48 have submitted their documents for compensation. Notices are being served to the remaining 144 owners. The work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, November 6."
Kota Srinivas Poojary stated that the stay on the Parkala highway work has been resolved in the government's favor, and the compensation needs to be paid to the landowners. He instructed the officials to start the work.
Gurme Suresh Shetty added, "The court has placed a stay on the work within 600 meters of Perdoor temple. Outside of that area, work should proceed. Devotees have requested that the original form of the temple and the Kalyani be preserved, which should be taken into consideration during the road development."
Kundapur assistant commissioner Mahesh Chandra, NH 169A officials Manjunatha Gowda, Naveen Raj, and Manjunatha Nayak, as well as city municipality member Sundara Kalmady and revenue department officials, were present.
