Bantwal, Nov 4: MLA Rajesh Naik Uliya voiced strong criticism against the Karnataka government, alleging anti-farmer policies in the handling of the Wakf land issue. Speaking at a protest organized by Bantwal BJP at BC Road, Naik highlighted the case of Monappa Gowda, a farmer whose property in Bantwal is reportedly being claimed as Wakf land. He remarked on the failure to resolve this issue even through the courts, questioning, "Where are those who spoke about threats to the Constitution during the last Lok Sabha election?"

Naik alleged that the Congress government under CM Siddaramaiah, with minister Zameer Khan, is facilitating the conversion of Hindu and farmer lands into Wakf properties. He stated that the Modi government at the center will soon amend the law to counter such policies by the Congress.

Former president of Kionics, Harikrishna Bantwal, accused CM Siddaramaiah of attempting to turn Karnataka into a Muslim-majority state. BJP state leader Vikas Puttur asserted that the state government has not taken any action favoring Hindus in the last 18 months, accusing it instead of granting clean chits to alleged terrorists. He added that if minister Zameer Khan, whom he called the mastermind behind the Wakf land issue, visits Dakshina Kannada, he would "face a tough reception."

The protest was attended by several BJP leaders, including Bantwal BJP president R. Chennappa Kotyan, general secretaries Sudarshan Baj and Shivaprasad Shetty, and prominent members such as Devappa Poojary, Dinesh Amtur, Sandesh Shetty, Purushottam Shetty, Janardhan Salyan, and others.
