Mangaluru, Oct 1: The feast of Confraternity (Comprichem Festh) was celebrated with traditional joy and gaiety on September 30 at Guardian angel Church, Angelore.
As anticipation for the parish feast that is on October 2, the entire parish got together in huge numbers on the blessed day. The Eucharistic celebration began with Msgr Maxim Noronha, as the main celebrant. He in his homily stressed on the importance of having a healthy small Christian community. He emphasised the need for each one to consider the Church as one big family. He said, “Let’s come, share and dine together.”
The Eucharistic celebration was followed by the procession where the entire parish community, the young and the old took part in it. The musical band, the prayerful singing of the parishioners, and the colourful decoration all along the way with quotes from the scripture added magnificence to the entire celebration. Fr William Menezes, the parish priest and Fr Denzil Lobo, the assistant parish priest along with the leaders of the wards took extra initiative in encouraging the parishioners all along the week in their preparations for the day.
After the procession, the parishioners assembled at Capitanio school grounds to participate in the benediction.
