Mangaluru: Exhibition of rosary, Konkani religious literature to be held on Sep 29, 30

Mangaluru, Sep 28: As Rosario Cathedral in undivided Dakshina Kannada district completed 450 years this year and is devoted to the mother of rosary as well as called the mother of churches, several programmes were held and are being held in this regard. The year 2018 is declared the year of the rosary.

An exhibition of rosaries will be held by 'Sabu Kaithar' and party which has registered their name in the Limca book of records on the occasion. The exhibition will be held on September 29 and 30 from 9 am to 8 pm on both days. More than 5,000 rosaries, rosaries used by saints, exhibition of more than 500 statues and more than 500 pictures of mother Mary will be a special attraction. A similar four day long exhibition held in the past was visited by record number of people. The exhibition is being held jointly by Milagres church and Rosario church. Catholic brethren and interested people can make use of the opportunity.

A Konkani religious literature exhibition and conference will be held at the senate hall on September 30 from 4.30 pm. There will be a homily on Konkani religious literature and mother Mary in art. A magic show of mother Mary will also be held.

Retired bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza will inaugurate the programme. Former Mangaluru south MLA J R Lobo will be the chief guest.

The Konkani religious literary conference will be chaired by retired bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza. Littérateur and scholar Dr B S Talwadi Bengaluru and former president of Konkani Sahitya Academy, Roy Castelino will be the guests of honour.

Uzwad newspaper editor and Udupi diocese public relations officer Fr Chetan Kapuchin will be the chief speaker, said programme convener Fr J B Crasta.
