Mangalore, Nov 1: Harikrishna Punaroor, former president, Kannada Shahitya Parishat, released the brochure of the second ‘Kudla Kalavali Kala Mela’ at the Press Club on Thursday October 30.
The Kalamela, an exhibition cum sale of paintings, is to be held at Kadri Park on Saturday November 29, and Sunday November 30. The event is being organized by the artists of the undivided Dakshina Kannada district in association with S S Creations.
Addressing mediapersons here on Thursday October 30, N S Patthar, general convener of the Kala Mela said that the main objectives of the event are to create awareness about art in society, to take works of art to the doorsteps of the people, to showcase veteran and new artists on the same stage, and to honour veteran artists.
He said that as many as 200 stalls, nearly an equal number of artists, lectures on art, and an exhibition of about 5,000 works of art, and the Sanjiva Shetty memorial children's painting competition, are the major highlights of the two-day event.
