Bengaluru, Sep 28: State director general and inspector general of police Neelamani N Raju has asked police staff to treat elected representatives and people with respect.
“Elected representatives have received constitutional power to perform public duties. Besides the way police officials should perform their work is mentioned in Police manual. Therefore, they should be polite with elected representatives and receive their telephone calls on priority. They should also take action to accept their suggestions and solve public grievances,” she directed.
“If that is not possible, the reason should be mentioned to them decently,” she stated in the police circular.
