Udupi, Sep 27: Paryaya Shri Palimaru Math seer Shri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamji performed boomi pooja and laid the foundation stone for the construction of public bathrooms, toilets and underground water storage unit worth Rs 2 crore at the parking area, near Rajangana here on Wednesday, September 26.
It is a project undertaken by Paryaya Shri Palimaru Math aimed to provid best of amenities to the tourists and communities at large. The project is supported by ONGC-MRPL, Mangaluru. The land belongsto Parisara Prathishtana Udupi.
Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji delivering the blessings address said, “It is a service for the devotees who will come to Sri Krishna temple from all across India. Human body is like the temple of Sri Krishna. God has created our body. The body is equal to home. There is kitchen (mouth), dining room (intestine), water storage and many. This was a dream project. One has to keep his health in a good condition. A financier, land and engineer play important roles to complete a project. This project will be completed by six months.”
Junior Sri Ishapriya Theertha Swamiji of Admar Math, said that if a person is financially strong enough, let him invest 20% of his total income to fulfil his desire and 80% for others. “Our body should be clean first, then only he can take darshana of God,” he said.
Dr V Ravichandran, CEO and MD, Diya Systems (Mangaluru) Pvt Ltd. said, “The chief of MRPL Kumar had sanctioned Rs 2 crore for the project before his retirement under CSR activity. This is just a beginning and it was the desire of Kumar. This is going to be world class facility for devotees of Sri Krishna temple. It will be open after six months with high-tech facilities. We are ready to extend our help to the Math in days to come.”
Another guest, chief general manager (CSR) Harish Baliga from MRPL said, “MRPL has taken up many CSR activities and this is one among them. This project comes under the central government scheme 'Swacch Bharath'.”
Prahlad briefed the project report and said, “This is a two floor building, which will have ground and first floor, constructed at the cost of Rs 2 crore. There will be 50 bathrooms and 50 toilets for men and women separately. There will also be special facility for physically challenged. A five lac litre underground water storage sump will also be constructed. The best bathrooms will be available for devotees.”
