Udupi: NSUI district unit demands roll back of fuel prices

Media Release

Udupi, Sep 6: The National Students Union of India (NSUI) district unit, demanded the union government to roll back the hike on petrol and diesel prices.

The press release issued by the district president Christan D’Almeida states, “Every day, the central government is increasing the price of fuel. The sharp increase in prices of petroleum products is a ‘result of the centre’s anti-people policy’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured the people of this country that the future would be bright if they voted for the BJP candidates in the Lok Sabha elections, but instead of helping the people, the central government has hiked the fuel price. I think the future of the country will be bleak if the centre continues to take decisions that affect the people.

“PM Modi who used to attack the UPA government on fuel price has now created history by hiking it to the highest ever. Modi government is playing with the lives of the poor and the middle class. Modi who used the slogan during the 2014 elections ‘Janta Maaf Nahi Karegi’ will definitely backfire on him in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“The people of the nation have realised that Prime Minister Modi made tall promises to them and failed to deliver on what he had promised. The central government is giving false hopes to the people on black money, Make in India, employment creation and other assurances. Modi has exploited the sentiments of the people who blindly believed in his promises during the last parliamentary polls and voted for him. They have now realised that it was all false,” stated the press release.
