Karwar, Sep 6: A video shot in Karwar, in which the mother is seen brutally thrashing her daughter, has become viral. The video shows a mother living on Pinge Road here inhumanly beating up her 12-year-old daughter.

People living in the neighbouring houses taped the punishment on video and conveyed information to the officials of women and child development department. The officials who immediately plunged into action, arrested the mother and rescued the girl.

The husband of the woman in question has deserted her . The woman who lives alone with children, is seen always beating up her children badly, it is said. The locals said that whenever someone tries to help the children, the woman threatens to  attack them.

The video footage shows the woman tossing the daughter to the ground and placing her entire weight on her with her foot, kicking the girl, etc. The girl is seen crying in Konkani language for help, calling out frantically to women in the neighbourhood to save her, which brings tears out of the eyes of the viewers.
