Bengaluru: 'Neither in race, nor aspiring to become CM' - Deshpande

Bengaluru, Sep 3: "I am not an aspirant for the post of the chief minister. I am not in this race," said revenue minister, R V Deshpande. He was speaking to media persons at the chief minister's home office, 'Krishna' on Saturday September 1.

When questioned about his name being coined for the post of the next chief minister, Deshpande said there was a time he had desired to become the chief minsister and that he is no more an aspirant. "My name has not been recommended by Deve Gowda or Kumaraswamy. I am not at all in the race," he asserted.

Deshpande, who took part in the 'Janata Darshan' programme of the chief minister for some time, appreciated the patience, humanity and care with which Kumaraswamy listens to problems of poor people who mostly come up with health problems. He said he has seen that the chief minister has been providing relief to the distressed people on the spot by calling the officials concerned. He said he prays to the god to give good health to Kumaraswamy as he takes care of the health of ordinary people.
