Mangalore, Oct 21: The district committee of the Sri Rama Sene has urged the state government and Chikmagalur district administration repair the Dattapeeta cave temple.
Addressing demonstrators in front of the deputy commissioner’s (DC) office on Monday October 20, Kumar Malemar, district convener, Sri Rama Sene, said devotees could not visit the ‘Paduke’ at Chandra Drona Hill due to the collapse of the cave temple. The government has hurt the sentiments of Hindus by not taking an interest in repairing the damage which occurred a few months ago, he said.
Malemar said the past governments had not stopped the ‘Datta Maladharis’ from visiting the Paduke. But, the BJP has stopped them revealing the fake Hindutva policy of the current state government, he alleged.
Kumar cautioned the government that failure to start repair work within two weeks, will see the Sri Rama Sene carry out intensified protests against the BJP.
