Udupi: Hit by car, pedestrian gets killed

Udupi, Aug 25: A pedestrian was killed after he was knocked down by a car on the night of Thursday August 23 opposite Vijaya Bank's branch near Ashirvad Tallkies at Santhekatte here.

The deceased was Ashok. It is said that Ashok, along with a friend, was waiting to cross the highway near the divider, when a car that was moving towards Brahmavar from the direction of the city hit him. Ashok, who sustained grave injuries in the accident, was taken to district hospital at Ajjarkad here but he breathed his last on the way, it is gathered.

The culprit who caused the accident, went away without stopping the car. A complaint about the incident was filed at the traffic police station here.

    Really objectionable attitude of the driver who was responsible for this accident need to be punished and may the soul of the departed rest in eternal peace
