Moodbidri: Sudarshan Jain murder - three including brother arrested

Moodbidri, Aug 23: Police here have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of Sudarshan Jain (28), son of Ratnakar Kadamba from Hosabettu village here, on Wednesday August 22.

The arrested accused have been identified as the deceased's brother, Sudhir Jain (26), Sandeep Shetty (29) from Hokkadigoli and Balaraj (23), a resident of Arambody. On being produced in court, all three were remanded to police custody till August 27.

Sudarshan Jain was employed in a cloth store in town. On the night of August 11, after working hours, he was returning home by motor bike accompanied by his brother, Sudhir Jain. Some distance before reaching his house, Sudhir Jain claimed that the motor bike had developed some problem. He led his elder brother to a car found nearby in which Sudhir's friends were seated. The accused took Sudarshan Jain elsewhere, stabbed him with sharp weapons and killed him by tightening a rope around his neck. His body was dropped into river Falguni before the accused went away. The body was found from near Maravoor dam on August 17.

Sudhir Jain has a shop at Siddakatte. Sandeep worked as air-conditioner mechanic in his shop. The third accused, Balaraj, happens to be a friend of Sudhir, it is gathered. More details are yet to be ascertained.
