Udupi, Oct 19: The extension building at the Government First Grade College, Tenkanidiyur, was inaugurated and the foundation stone laid for the post graduate centre, by Aravinda Limbavali, higher education minister, on Saturday October 18.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government colleges will be developed so that they can compete with private colleges. The principals of the government colleges should take the initiative in developing the institutions, said Limbavali.
State home minister Dr V S Acharya inaugurated the open stage, while MLA Raghupathy Bhat presided over the function. Local village panchayat president Suresh Nayak, collegiate education joint director Savita, and PWD executive engineer Suresh Shetty, were present on the dais.
Principal B Yoganand welcomed the gathering. Dr Gananath Ekkar delivered the introductory remarks. Balakrishna proposed vote of thanks while Dr Niketana compered the programme.
