Bangalore, Oct 17: A delegation of various Christian leaders representing Archbishop Bernard Moras met union home minister Shivraj Patil at Raj Bhavan on Monday October 13, and expressed their anxiety over the continued attacks and vandalism of churches in the state.

They sought the centre’s immediate intervention into the matter citing apathy on the part of the state government in this regard. The delegation alleged that the memorandum handed over to the chief minister by Archbishop Moras last month had not elicited any action yet. After the meeting, Fr Adolf Washington, public relations officer of the archdiocese, said, ‘There was clear indication from the meeting and interaction, that the union home minister and the prime minister, are not happy with what is happening in Karnataka and are fully aware of the situation here.’
 
Besides Fr Washington, the delegation consisted of Fr T S Amruthraj, vicar general, Bangalore archdiocese, Fr C Francis, finance officer of the archdiocese, Fr A S Antonyswamy, parish priest, St Mary’s Basilica, Ronnie D’Souza, archbishops house, John Rosario, archbishops house, and Benedict Baalu, president, Karnataka Craista Ranga.
