Bantwal: Orientation and soft skills development programme held at Scared Heart College Madanthyar

Bantwal, Aug 8: Department of post graduation in commerce (M.Com) of Scared Heart College Madanthyar organised an orientation and soft skills development programme on Tuesday, August 7 at college auditorium for the students of MCom.

The resource persons for the programme were Dr Ajith D’Souza, the director of Asha Jyothi Acedamy, Surathkal, who has also served as principal of Mahesh PU College Mangaluru from 2011 to 2017. Another resource person of the day was Renita D’Souza, trustee of Asha Jyothi Charitable Institution and former lecturer at Alva’s College Moodbidri and Milagres College Kallianpur. Throughout their talk and presentations they helped master students to re-invent themselves; so they become more confident, fearless, and successful.



Dr Ajith In his motivational talk, encouraged students to chase their hobbies and dreams, to stay stress free and guided students to follow their desired goals. He inspired them by his words of wisdom ‘Not to give up, take a break, if it is must, but never give up’. He added, there will be lot of problems along the way, but with each small step you take towards your goal they can be solved. There will be frustrations, fears and uncertainties but with each positive decision you take they can be crushed. There will be hardship and danger, but with each small step of focus you take on the desired destination it can be conquered.

He involved the students in many more physical activity to relax, as well as gave them few tricks to stay calm, cool and how to get adjust to any environment so quickly without any hurdles.

Renita D’Souza gave many more insights on understanding and communicating in proper ways. She also introduced the students to many exclusive examples and challenges in the present world through an eye opening physical activities.

Principal of the college Prof Alex Ivan Sequeira welcomed all first year MCom students to the post graduation college campus and wished all the students a fruitful days and happy stay in the college.

The programme was attended by 70 students and four faculty members of MCom. The day started by invoking God’s blessings. Pavana Rai, HOD and coordinator of the department of post graduation in commerce (MCom) welcomed resource persons and dignitaries as well as students. Nelson Monis rendered the vote of thanks. Robin Sera compeered the programme.
