Mangaluru, Aug 7: The inaugural function of Kalothsava 2018-19, the student activity committee of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) was held on Monday, August 6 at Fr L F Rasquinha Hall, LCRI.
Prof Krishnamurthy, principal, SDM Residential PU College, Ujire and a well-known HRD trainer was the chief guest. Fr Dr Praveen Martis, principal of the college presided over the programme.
Prof Krishnamurthy, in his address, shared his experiences as a student and a faculty of participating in several cultural programmes in the field of drama and yakshagana. He also said that there are quite a number of students in St Aloysius College having multifaceted talents and the college is preparing a platform to showcase the budding talents of its students. He urged the students to present the great Indian heritage and culture to the world. He advised the students to develop self-confidence, creativity and understanding. He also told the students to be ambiverts to face the future.
Principal Fr Dr Praveen Martis in his presidential remarks said that the students are the future of the nation and they must know how to build a future. He reminisced his students days as an introvert student and he explained how he became an ambivert and achieved success in his career. He motivated the students by saying that life is open for everyone and one should make the best use of it. He advised the students to chase their dreams and transform them into reality.
Student activities co-ordinator, Dr Ishwar Bhat briefed the audience on about Kalotsava 2018-19. He said that the initial purpose of this programme is to identity the students’ talents and nurture them into the respective fields by experts. St Aloysius College has a number of talented students in different areas like drama, skit, singing, dancing, acting, quiz, etc. and the college is highly supportive giving opportunities to showcase their talents in and outside the college. He also encouraged the students and said that they must develop their personality and become true Aloysians.
Dr A M Naharahi, the registrar of the college was present on the dais. Mamatha, dean, faculty of Business Management welcomed the gathering. Caldrida, II BSc and Sushma, III BCom compered the programme. Dr Sreelalitha Suvarna rendered the vote of thanks.
