Mangaluru Jul 26: Coastalwood actress Shraddha Salian is all set to make her sandalwood debut with ‘Ratanamanjari' under the direction of Prasidh.
Shraddha Salian, born and brought up in Mumbai, is the daughter of Meena Salian (Dave), a Gujrathi Bhramin and Ashok Salian, who hails from Udupi.
She made her coastalwood debut in ‘Super Marmaye’ directed by Ram Shetty and followed by 'My Name is Annappa' which will be released soon. Shraddha Salian is playing the lead role in Kannada movie ‘Ratanamanjari’ opposite Raj Charan.
Shraddha is passionate about art and is a very spiritual person. She likes to spend her time cooking in a show ‘Awesome Sauce’, yoga, reading books and working out at the gym.
Shraddha has done a myriad of commercial advertisements with brands like 92.7 big FM with Abhishek Bachchan, Indian tourism for BBC, CNBC Home 18, IPL Set Max promo, Star Plus promo, a government advert for the ‘odd and even’ initiative in Delhi, Gold Winner cooking oil, 9X TV channel and Zandu Snez cure. Shraddha has appeared in three Hindi daily soaps so far, making appearances in 'Saavdhan India', 'Jinee aur Juju' and 'Jhil Mil Sitaro Ka Aangan Hoga'.
Shraddha believes that the Kannada film will be a turning point in her career. “I play a different role in the movie and my character is such it will be liked by the audience. I do not know to speak Kannada but I can understand the language very well. I never felt that language was a barrier for me throughout the film. I have understood the script quite well and delivered the dialogues accordingly. Movie has come out really well and IS expected to release by this year. Even coastalwood actor Manju Rai will also be seen in this movie and it is good to see two artists from coastal region are representing the same Kannada movie,” says Shraddha Salian.
She further said, “I have received one offer from Sandalwood in which I have to portray the role of goddess Devi and am looking forward to this film.”
