Mangaluru: Mayor Bhaskar Moily stresses on women’s education at St Agnes College

Mangaluru, Jul 25: St Agnes College department of Political Science organised ‘Mayor Visit,’ an annual programme where Mangaluru Mayor interacts with students on Wednesday, July 25 in the college premises.

Mangaluru mayor K Bhaskar, spoke on the importance of women’s education and also the contributions of St Agnes College to the society and in empowering women. He advised students to make use of opportunities they get in life, and have a brighter future.

After the talk, the mayor was felicitated by college principal Dr Sr Jeswina.

The mayor visit is an annual programme, organised by St Agnes College Political Science department with an aim to know the newly elected mayor and the plans he has for the city’s development. Students question the mayor regarding the various issues that affect the city, and gain an understanding on the governance of the city’s civic bodies.

St Agnes College Political Science HOD Chandramohan Marate introduced the guest, while department of Political Science assistant professor Gayathri welcomed the audience. IIIrd BA Political Science student representative delivered the vote of thanks.
