Bengaluru: New science block blessed and inaugurated at St Anthony’s PU College, Kengeri

Bengaluru, Jul 25: The newly built Science block at St Anthony’s PU College was blessed and inaugurated on July 23.

The new block was blessed by Fr Dr Bernard Moras, archbishop emeritus of Bengaluru and inaugurated by Fr Dr Dolphy Pais, provincial minister, Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka. Muniraju, corporator, Ullal ward, BBMP, was also one among the eminent personalities present.

The new Science block consists of well-furnished classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, spacious auditorium, library and various other facilities. The desire to meet the educational thirst of the students belonging to the middle and lower middle-class families, was the foundation for this project. With the ardent efforts of Fr Dr Alwyn Dias, director of St Anthony’s Institutions, along with the support and encouragement of Capuchin friars and benefactors this dream was realized. It is a great leap in the growth of the institution.

St Anthony’s PU College and Darshan College established in the year 2002 and situated along the Mysore Road in Kengeri, promotes higher learning in humanities and strives to create a society where people have actualized most of their human and epistemic potentialities. St Anthony’s PU College has Science, Commerce and Arts streams with various combinations. Darshan College offers Bachelor degrees in Business Administration, Commerce and Computer Applications, along with other short-term courses in areas like human resource development, spirituality and educational counselling and communication skills. The mission of Darshan College is succinctly expressed in the motto, ‘Jnanenaiva Vimuktih’ which means, ‘Liberation is through enlightenment’.
