Puttur, Jul 16: On the occasion of the commencement of the new academic year 2018-19, an orientation programme was recently organised for the students of the second and final year Degree at St Philomena College Puttur on.
The programme was inaugurated by the campus director Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro. In his address he said, "In the present day educational scenario, teachers play varieties of roles as parent, guide, friend, advisor and philosopher. The students must have the attitude to listen to the teachers. The academic success of any student is influenced by punctuality, commitment and hard work."
The principal prof Leo Noronha presented the rules and regulations of the college. He also said, "Education empowers the good life of an individual. Learning to know, learning to do, learning to live in harmony and learning to be are the four important goals of education.’
Anuradha Bharadwaj B R and Sangeetha presented a prayer song.
The Student Welfare Officer Dr Chandrashekar K extended a formal welcome. The Student Welfare Officer Bharathi S Rai compered the programme.
