Bengaluru, Jul 16: A golf ball which was hit into the compound of ‘Krishna’, home office of H D Kumaraswamy, chief minister (CM) of Karnataka, and damaged the windshield of the car of police commissioner of Bengaluru East, has caused security concern for the residence of the CM, which is considered as highly secured.

This incident occurred on the evening of Friday, July 13, when the CM was holding various meetings at his official residence.

Earlier, when Kumaraswamy was the CM, he had ordered the elevation of the boundary wall of the nearby golf course as the golf ball had caused inconvenience to visitors at Krishna. Then, a 16-foot high net was put across the golf course. Even then, the landing of the ball directly into the verandah of the CM's residence has caused a security concern.

Dr G Parameshwar, DCM, who arrived at the residence of the CM for an important meeting, within few moments after this incident took place said that the issue of the landing of the golf ball is taken seriously and discussion will be held with the administration board of the golf course to raise the height of the protective fence further. He also said the possibility of shifting the golf club itself to the outskirts of the city.

Parameshwar said, "We are going to declare the area around Vidhana Soudha as a high-security zone. It is decided to establish a separate protection force of around 100 people to protect Vidhana Soudha, Vikasa Soudha, Lokayukta, office residence Krishna and Cauvery buildings."
