Udupi, Jul 15: Panchadoomavati Daivastana Jumadinagara, Kodavoor bus stop was inaugurated on Sunday, July 15. Yashodha Amin, Businessman inaugurated the new bus stop.

Tulu drama artist Prasanna Shetty Bailoor was the chief guest for the function. On the occasion, he said, “This bus stop has been built completely by the people for the people, without the help of the government. This shows the spirit and strength of youths. Today, our youths are heading towards bad habits. Rather than getting addicted to smoking and drinking, they should utilize their valuable time in social activities. The bus stop must be well maintained by the people only.”

Another guest MLA Raghupathi Bhat addressing the gathering said, “Kodavoor village is changing. Building of the bus stops is a responsibility of the government. But the people of Jumadinagara have done the work of the government. They have challenged the government. In 2006-2008, this area was named as Jumadinagara by the notification of the government.

“Basically this place belongs to Jain community. Where the Jain community lived, there lived Jumadi daiva as a guardian. Today, everyone is talking about communal harmony. Do other religions do not have the responsibility to show communal harmony? When we start to build any temple or a deity, obstacles have been put forward in the name of communal harmony. Communal harmony must be conducted from both the sides,” he said.

“The bus stop was built completely by people. Municipality members had shown interest while we approached them with our request. So we decided to build it spending our own money. This will now help people and gives protection from rain and sun,” said Prabhat Kodavoor.

K T Prasad, Subhash Mendon, Shekar Gurikar, Vijay, Kishore Kumar and others were present during the function.
