Puttur: Man named as accused in murder case ends life

Puttur, Jul 14: A person who was named as accused in a murder case, chose to commit suicide by jumping into a pond. The incident happened at Kaimana village in the taluk on Thursday July 12.

The deceased happened to be Dinesh (35) from Majaladka House in the taluk. On Thursday, he had visited the house of Manoj from Devasya village, who was his friend. He stayed overnight. At night when others were sleeping, he jumped into the agricultural pond located in front of the family's house, said Gangadhar, brother of Dinesh, in a complaint made to the police.

Dinesh was heavily addicted to liquor. The complainant suspected in the complaint that Dinesh, who was facing financial crisis, would have ended life out of mental depression arising out of this situation.

The murder case in which Dinesh had been named as accused had happened within the limits of Subrahmanya police station limits. It is still in the hearing stage in court.

The suicide complaint was registered at Bellare police station.
