Bengaluru: Police inspector, assistant suspended for concealing information on crime

Bengaluru, Jul 13: A police inspector and his assistant were suspended by the police commissioner in the city for allegedly not informing their superiors about a gang that vandalized vehicles. In addition, the suspended duo did not hold on to the primary accused in a case of kidnap.

The windshields of a few cars parked beside Satellite Bus station on Mysore road were damaged by miscreants on Tuesday night, July 10. An official said that the inspector did not inform about it to the senior officers and they came to know of the incident only through media.

The inspector in question also did not try to find the primary accused in the case of kidnapping businessman Jaiprakash Bansal which happened at Nandini layout on April 14, 2018. The accused is absconding. The inspector did not inform his senior officers of the progress in the case and did not follow instructions.
