Kasargod: Farmer inadvertently places foot on live wire, gets electrocuted

Kasargod, Jul 10: An agriculturist was electrocuted when on a casual walk near his home came in contact with a live electric wire that had got severed and had fallen across his path. This tragic incident happened on the evening of Sunday July 8.

The deceased was Ganapati Bhat (78) from Vorkady village. He had visited a garden hear his home to pluck some flowers when he became the victim of this accident.

Bhat's family members were worried when he did not return even after a lapse of considerable time. They went in search of him and found him to have been immobilized by the current shock. They contacted the electricity office and got the power supply to the area severed. Thereafter, Ganapati Bhat was rushed to hospital, but by then he had breathed his last, it is gathered.

A case about the incident was registered at Manjeshwar police station.
