Mangaluru: ‘Gadyanthle Gammath’ organised by Bajal church

Mangaluru, Jul 10: ICYM, CLC and Catholic Sabha unit of God the Holy Spirit Church, on the occasion of platinum jubilee year, organised ‘Gadyanthle Gammath’, a day-long traditional sports events for the parishioners on July 8.

Parish priest Fr RCM Aranha and assistant parish priest Fr Paul Sebastian D'Souza inaugurated the programme by waving the flag. Parish council vice-president Henry D'Souza, secretary Maurice D'Souza, platinum jubilee committee president Alwyn D'Souza and ICYM central council treasurer Jovel Fernandes were present on the dais.



The day was filled with various games for the parishioners of all age category. The games played were musical chair, running race, throwing of coconut, volleyball, throwball, sack race, tug-of-war and many more. Lunch was served to all the people gathered on the occasion.

Fr Cyril Pinto, former parish priest, was the chief guest. Keshava Bhandary, the owner of the land was also present during the valedictory. Keshava Bhandary was felicitated on this occasion for providing the land to hold the sports event.

‘Wilfyche Rede’ team were the overall champions.
