Kundapur, Jul 9: “Though I am a leader of the opposition legislative council, my house has become Kundapur constituency. The felicitation by BJP constituency here is the highest honor of my life,” said Vidhan Parishat opposition leader Kota Srinivas Poojary.

He spoke responding to the honor received from BJP at the BJP office on Sunday July 8.

“I will try my best to bring to the notice of the government in the assembly all the problems faced by the people here. I will perform the duties entrusted by the party through hard work, sincerity, free from confusion bringing the people along,” he said.

Kundapur MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty congratulating Poojary said that the responsibility of Srinivas Poojary has increased after becoming the opposition leader. “Let the lapses of the government be shown; work as the voice of people,” he said.

Block president Kadooru Suresh Shetty, district fishermen's federation president Sadananda Balkoor and Yuva morcha president Sathish Poojary spoke.

Member of state executive, Kiran Kumar Kodgi, district chief secretary Yashpal Suvarna, Sandhya Ramesh, block chief secretary Bhasker Billava, Gopala Kalanje and others were present along with party workers.

Constituency chief secretary Shanker Ankadakatte welcomed and compered the programme.

“When our party was in power and I was a member of gram panchayat, taluk panchayat and zilla panchayat, though there was no position of opposition party leader, I used to stand and raise my voice against the ruling party. Therefore, those who always oppose get the post of opposition leader,” said Kota Srinivas Poojary.
