Mangaluru: ICYM Permannur celebrates Vanamahostava

Mangaluru, Jul 8: ICYM Permannur unit celebrated Vanamahostava by distributing free saplings and input session on nature conservation on Sunday, July 8 at Ambedkar Ground, Thokkotu, Permannur.

Input session on nature conservation was conducted by P Shridhar, regional forest officer, Mangaluru. He stressed the need of creating a space in minds before planning to find a space to plant trees in gardens. Fr Stany Pinto, assistant parish priest of Permannur church presided over the programme.

U P Ibrhim, president, agriculture and industrial committee, zilla panchayat, Mangaluru, Vidyadhar Shetty, president, Posa Kura Media, Melwin C D’Souza, vice-president, parish pastoral council, Ronlad Fernandes, secretary, parish pastoral council, Sr Sevrine Fernades and Deril D’Souza, animators, ICYM Permannur, Lanson D’Souza, president, ICYM Permannur, Rayan, secretary ICYM Permannur, and Noel D’Souza, vice-president, ICYM central council were present on the dais.

More than 500 free sapling of various kinds were distributed to the public. Velita D’Souza compered the programme, Lanson D’Souza, president, ICYM Permannur welcomed the gathering and Rayan, secretary, ICYM Permannur rendered the vote of thanks.
