Belagavi, Jun 24: "The post of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) had come seeking me. I was eligible for the post and am capable of handling it. However, i refused to accept the post for the time being," said Yamakanamaradi MLA, Satish Jarkiholi.
Speaking to media persons in the city on Saturday June 23, Jarkiholi said that those who become president of KPCC will have his unequivocal support. At the same time, he put forth the demand that the term of KPCC president should be fixed as five years.
"In every aspect, north Karnataka is getting step-motherly treatment. But the time is not yet ripe for demanding creation of separate north Karnataka state. This situation has arisen because of lack of leadership to the movement. If some more leaders grow on the line of Mallikarjun Kharge, such injustices can be affectively addressed,"he explained. He stated that he would prepare a list of his supporters who are eligible and aspiring for the posts of the chairpersons of boards and corporations to Karnataka in-charge of party affairs, K C Venugopal, soon.
