Good work done by Lokayktha but what is the use of raiding such things if the Govt does not give them the necessary power to curb these culprits.Ayaram and gayaram..Today these people's property may be raided but tomorrow they will be in minister's chambers.God alone can save Mr.Hegde.

Jude, well done, best comments on corrupt Govt.Officials. Here one of my own experience, when I visited HUDCO Office, in Bondel,to have Loan clearence letter, the guy who welcomed us, demanded bribe, using his own style of dialouge delivery VANTE DALA SHIM SHIM KORODAAVU. I Straightaway refused his demand and returned back, later I collected my document without paying anything.

Mr. Poojary will bribe the investigating officials and will go scot free within a few days. The investigating officials will then declare that it was a mistake and that Mr. Poojary is as clean as an angel. of This is another routine bit of news. Have we ever heard of any these officials being punished?. I know for sure that the entire drugs control department and the commercial and sales taxes department is corrupt. I used to have a pharma distribution business in the late 80's and we had to pay the drugs inspectors a fixed sum every 6 months and the commercial tax officers who used to scrutinize our books each year without exception or else they would file umpteen cases against you.

Some of these officers used to be of my dad's age and would make me wonder as to what kind of upbringing they would be giving their children. I was so fed up that in the end i gave up business altogether. The virus of corruption is so deep that our entire country is suffering. we need to follow the chinese system and make an example of people and bring in fear. In china corrupt officials are shot. We need to do the same here if we are to see any improvement. If not things will go on as usual.

Mahatma Gandhi along with all the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for a very sacred cause would not have imagined for a moment that their blood & efforts would end up with the present corrupt system of Goverance. Today, people await opportunities & heavily bribe to get Govt. & Police Jobs. Those who have failed at everything or have God Fathers join politics with the one and only aim of power & money.

See the scramble for ministership. See the transperency in Govt.official transfers. You see the face of the same police officer for years & years. The comments of our fellow readers should shame these very officials & politicians. But alas! when they 'do not' have any blood, how will they be hurt and have shame."YEH HAMARI PEHCHAN HAI - YEH HAMARI MAJBOOTI HAI".

My suggestion to the respected Lokayuktha is to train spies and employ them in Govt. service. The task becomes easy, if they are hand in gloves with the corporate bodies, more looters will be caught and their evil doings are unearthed.

The chain is from small to big. Hence, a lot of motivation is required to eradicate this corruption route. One more suggestion is, during inspection of these officials to the corporate premises, let there be hidden camera's to record their convesations, negotiations and burgaining.

Unless other wise the palms of govt officers are greased ,it will mean making endless visits to the office to get our work done.During land registration the lawyer will give a break up of his fee and the unofficial registration fee to be deposited in the drawer or a basket in the registration office. There is nothing secret about it.

If the Lokayukta raids any commercial tax official's house and does not find property disproportionate to his emoluments, that will be the eighth wonder of the world. The work culture and ethics have got so much decayed and degraded in our country that corruption has become an accepted way of life.Every day we are hearing such stories.

What happens to these officials afterwards?Any body follows up?If people think that only the concerned official is corrupt, they arer mistaken. He might have given crores to get the promotion and posting to the politicians which he is collecting back.

Unfortunately, our political system namely democracy is unsuitable for people like us.Majority of this corrupt black money is for utilisation in the elections by the politicians.I have become naive to this kind of news, but since you published with some photos,it was interesting.

Lokayut should raid the residences of RTO, Registrars, Mangalore City Corporation, Police officials including Peons and Clerks. I am sure, next year our beloved Chief Minister need not present a budget at all, as the amount seized is enough to run the administration of this State.

For every thing there is corruption. You purchase a vehicle, you have to pay for registration. You purchase a house/site-land you have to pay the Registrars office. You have to file a police complaint you have to pay through the Lawyer. Since these officials accept this money though agents, they will never be caught reh-handed. Hence best thing is to raid their residences and catch hold of them.
