Mysuru, May 14: It is learnt that on Friday May 11, Karnataka chief minister, Siddaramaiah's family arranged for recital of four Vedas with the participation of 40 Chennai-based Vedic scholars at Lord Srikanteshwara temple, Nanjangud. The family, it is gathered, sought divine support to ensure victory of Siddaramaiah in Chamundeshwari and Badami constituencies.
Reports said that Ganesh Deekshit, an astrologer close to the chief minister's family, oversaw the arrangements for this ritual, with the support of temple priest, Shankar Deekshit. Sources confirmed that the family of the chief minister arranged for this prayer by spending lacs of rupees.
Yuva Brigade Nanjangud taluk joint convener, Sunil, guessed by the fact that Shankar Deekshit himself led the prayers, that Siddaramaiah is overtaken by the fear of the possibility of his defeat in the election. District convener of Yuva Brigade, S Chandrashekhar, said that the chief minister seems to be remembering gods,Vedas, Puranas etc. "By this action, Siddaramaiah has proved again that he is a fake socialist," he commented.
