Catholic Women’s Association of Permannur St Sebastian Church organizes Voviyo competition

Mangaluru, Nov 5: The voviyo competition organized by the Catholic Women's Association of Permannur St Sebastian parish was held on November 3 at St Sebastian Auditorium 2. The stage programme began with a prayer song.

On the occasion, the president Pramila D’Souza welcomed the dignitaries on the dias. The event was presided over by Fr Cyprian Pinto, the spiritual director of the Catholic Women’s Association, St Joseph Vaz deanary vicar var and parish priest, formally inaugurated the programme with 'Paan Pod Udaak'.

Bethany convent superior Sr Joseph Mary, parish vice president Arun D'Souza and secretary Jyothi D'Souza, all commission coordinator Dolphy D'Souza, the judges of the programme Manu Bantwal, Joseph Pinto Angelore, Floyed D’Mello Cascia were present on the Dias.

As many as 13 wards took part in the Voviyo competition. The names of the best of 5 wards were announced by assistant parish priest Fr Johnson Denzil Pereira.

The best of 5 wards were Fatima ward, Fatima first ward, Nityadhar first ward, St Peter ward and Infant Jesus ward. The prizes were distributed for the winning wards. About 350 people were present at the occasion. Vote of thanks was given by secretary Jyothi D’Souza.

The function was compered by Jacintha Veigas and Leena D’Sa. Parish priest Fr Cyprian Pinto gave ice cream to everyone present. Finally, the programme was concluded by singing the Laudate hymn.
