Bengaluru, Apr 24: The musical chairs game over the post of Hassan Deputy Commissioner continued with the State Government transferring the current incumbent D Randeep, who was appointed to replace Rohini Sinduri Dasari, and appointing Dr P C Jaffer, Commissioner of Public Instructions, in his place.
The transfer of Randeep and appointment of new deputy commissioner has been effected by the State Government on the directions from the Election Commission of India.
Randeep had taken the charge as DC in Hassan a week ago.
Now, within a week he has been transferred. But he has not been shown a place.
Randeep, who was DC of Mysuru, was transferred to Hassan on March 7.
However, he could not take charge as the then DC of Hassan Rohini Sindhuri moved CAT and got the stay for the transfer.
The matter went to High Court, which asked the CAT to hear the plea again.
The CAT in its order on April 17 upheld the State Government’s order and asked Randeep to take charge.
As per the order, Randeep took the charge. But Rohini Sinduri refused to hand over charge or attend the function.
Meanwhile, Rohini Sindhuri has moved the High Court challenging the CAT order. The petition is scheduled to come up for hearing on Wednesday.
Randeep had scheduled a visit to check-posts set up avoid violation of the model code of conduct and a media briefing for the day.
However, as he got the information about his transfer, he cancelled his official visits and media briefing.
