Mangaluru, Apr 16: Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader said on Sunday, April 15 that the forthcoming elections would be a fight between truth and misrepresentation.
Addressing media U T Khader said, "During the last four years and 10 months, Congress has introduced several people friendly schemes and have undertaken many development works which is right in front of the people to see. Even in my constituency (Ullal), development works have undertaken be it education, roads, water or distributing title deeds.
“During the last one month, the opposition is making fake allegations and misrepresenting many issues. But they will not be successful in this as our state is not Uttar Pradesh. People in Mangaluru will live in harmony and in my constituency people live in unity. We will not defend any culprits and go according to the law. Campaign should be done based upon truth and then people will decide. We are not here to defeat anyone but to win,” he said.
Speaking about Kathua rape case, Khader said, "This incident is a black mark on our country and has made every citizen to bow his head in shame. POCSO act amendment should be done and need to be strengthened. Security should be provided to parents of the victim. I will write a letter to the prime Minister and the law minister requesting the same.”
