Udupi, Apr 16: Kondady Jayaram Shetty launched the official website of Sri Veerabhadra Swamy temple Hiriyadka here on Sunday, April 15.
Meanwhile Subashchandra Hegde Anjar Beedu, president, Govardhanadas Hegde, vice-president, Somanath, Arunachal Shetty, Shekhar and others were present.
The website was designed by Shashikanth Shetty, Nithish Rao and Chethan Shetty. The website provides a detailed history of the temple, its significance, seva details, special events and other information.
Secretary of the organizing committee, Nataraja Hegde said, “The renovation works is in its finishing stage and will be ready for Brahmakalashotsava. This is one the main temples for the community with a heritage of rich Tulunadu culture.”
“Punarpratishtapane and Brahmakalashotsava rituals will begin from April 16 and it will continue till April 25. Everyday there will be religious rituals in the evening prior to the Brahmakalashotsava.
“On April 19, there is a meeting ‘Matru sangama’. The editor of Tharanga magazine Sandhya Pai will preside over the programme. Noted writer Dr Indira Hegde will take part in the meeting. The gathering is expected to see over 7,000 women from in and around the city. A grand Shobhayatra will conclude the meeting.
“On April 20, a meeting with saints and seers called ‘Santha sangama’ will be held. Sugunendra Theertha of Sri Puttige math will preside over the programme. Many saints and swamijis will take part in the religious meeting.
“On April 21, Rajasabha will be held. N Vinay Hegde will preside over the function. Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji will deliver a speech.
“On April 22, a Sudharma sabhe will be held. Brahma Shri Ucchilattaya Nileshwar Padmanabh Thantri will preside over the programme.
“Along with religious rituals, cultural programmes will be organized for the devotees. National level artists, musicians, dancers and yakshagana artistes will perform on the occasion.
“Hindustani music will be held by Fayaz Khan and team, famous vocalist P Praveen Godkindi and team, a violin concert by famous violinists Mysuru Manjunath and Nagraj, Odissi dance and others will be performed at Madhulita Mohapatra.
“Devotees will be served breakfast, snacks, lunch, evening snacks and dinner on all the ten days.
“As many as 2,000 volunteers are working for the success of the event,” he said.
